Chevrolet Cruze

Chevrolet Cruze is another model from the portfolio of General Motors, a vehicle currently also sold as Holden Cruze or Daewoo Lacetti Premiere in certain countries such as Australia and South Korea. The first generation Chevrolet Cruze was based on Suzuki Swift and entered production in 2001. General Motors announced the Chevrolet Cruze in fall 2001 while the sales started later that year.

The current Chevrolet Cruze, also known as J300, was firstly revealed in mid-August, 2008 while the five-door Cruze hatchback has been introduced at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

The American model is currently assembled at the Lordstown, Ohio plant in the U.S. but also in several other countries such as Russia, South Korea, India, China, Brazil or Australia.

Three gasoline units ranging from a 1.4-liter Ecotec unit with 138 horses and 200 Nm of torque to a more powerful 1.8-liter Ecotec unit offering 139 horsepower and 176 Nm of torque are available. Chevrolet also provides a 2.0-liter diesel engine capable of producing 161 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque.

In terms of safety, the Chevrolet Cruze received the five-star maximum rating several times from Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C-NCAP and other companies testing the safety of vehicles.
