Even Holden released no official pricing or availability details, some Australian dealers claim that the upcoming Holden Volt will get a starting price of over AU$60,000. There is a major difference between the price of the U.S.-spec Chevrolet Volt which starts from $39,645 and its Australian brother which might be even AU$30,000 more expensive.

There should not be such a surprise as Chevrolet sells the hybrid model in Europe with a similar price of $60,800 while in China, the American model starts from $76,000.

The local dealers are also seeing this situation as a complicated one, only 100 units being scheduled to arrive in Australia this year. Moreover, the same dealers claim that around 500 cars will reach the showrooms in 2013 and, if there is any demand, another batch of 500 vehicles will arrive in the dealerships.
