Nissan updates the engine range of the Juke crossover

Nissan officially announced today that the 1.5-liter dCi unit which is part of the engine range of the current Juke received some improvements.

To be more specific, the combined fuel economy is improved to 4,2 liters/100km or 56mpg US with CO2 emissions of just 109 g/km. Even so, the powerplant offers now 260Nm of torque, with 20Nm more than the outgoing unit.

The Japanese carmaker goes further and explains us how they managed to squeeze extra torque while improving the fuel consumption.

They changed the fuel injection nozzles and fitted the crossover with a low-inertia variable geometry turbocharger. New carbon coatings and revised variable displacement oil pumps are also available alongside an improved start/stop system.

“A new generation version of the award-winning direct injection diesel engine makes Juke more efficient, more refined and even greater fun to drive,” says Nissan in the official press release.
