After all the fuss created with the all-new 911, the Germans from Porsche announced that the fuel efficient Panamera diesel will be introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show this month. It is true that the model in question has been revealed few months ago but this is the perfect opportunity for the company to present it in front of the audience.

As you probably know, the German model is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel unit able to deliver 250 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. The V6 unit uses common-rail technology and is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission which transfers the power to the rear axle.

With such resources under the bonnet, the Panamera diesel accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 242 km/h. Even the figures might not be that impressive, we have to consider that we talk about a fuel efficient model which returns a consumption of 6,5 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions of 172 g/km.

The company claims that the figures can be improved even more if the vehicle is fitted with low rolling resistance tires. In this case, the fuel consumption drops to 6,3 liters/100 km while the CO2 emissions to 167 g/km.
