US: New Tesla Model S “60” Costs $66,000

Tesla`s sales aren`t exactly what the company has predicted, and to figure out a way on how to be more productive, the engineers have concluded that a base entry-level version would be the right choice for the moment.

We are dealing with the newly introduced Tesla Model S “60” entry-level version, which costs $66,000 in the United States. This means that you won`t get the top features found on the high-end Model S.

So if you decide to buy the S “60”, you should know that you won`t get the $4,500 21-inch alloy wheels, the $2,500 Smart Air Suspension or the $2,500 Autopilot. On the exterior, the model will be available in white or black, so it would be a matter of choice if you decide on other standout body colors, available between $1,000 and $1,500.

Even if we are dealing with an entry-level version, you still get to enjoy a plethora of interesting standard features: automatic keyless entry, removable dividers for the center console, maps and navigation with real time traffic information, or GPS-enabled Homelink.

There is also the wide choice of active safety features to consider, such as side collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, parking sensors, blind sport warning and so on.

In the engine department, the Tesla Model S “60” is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, which is pretty impressive. This base version can also be driven for 200 miles before needing to charge the battery.
