Today we get a closer look at Volkswagen’s electric version of the new Golf, namely the e-Golf.

In terms of styling, there won’t be major improvements excepting low rolling resistance tires, maybe new underbody panels and few other tweaks to improve the drag coefficient.

Under the hood, we will find an electric motor producing 115hp and 270Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 11,8 seconds and a top speed of 135 km/h.

The German model uses a 26,5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack able to provide a driving range of 175 kilometers while a complete charge takes about five hours.

According to Volkswagen, the new e-Golf comes with a total of three driving ranges, namely Normal, Eco and Range. The latter is able to increase the total driving range but this means a limitation in top speed.
