Here is yet another World Car of The Year winner that the majority doesn’t agree with, because it’s the 2011 Nissan Leaf.
I’m not one of the people that thinks the Nissan Leaf EV is that good a car but I don’t think it’s bad either and that means I may be a good person to sort things out.
The 2011 Nissan Leaf is actually a pretty good car, and the customer ownership isn’t bad at all but since it’s an electric vehicle, there’s quite the problem.
The Japanese company’s Nismo division may have come up with a racing version, but the EV part of the car is seriously bringing down the standards.
Not only is the range anxiety problem forever present on your list of problems related to ownership of the Nissan Leaf, but the production is so slow and the infrastructure is still lagging behind it.
The fact that the 2011 Nissan Leaf is only available in a few select markets and also the frame of mind of people around the world means that the decision to call it 2011 Car of the Year is a bit of a stretch.
