SEAT has made an important step toward electrification by starting pre-series manufacturing of batteries designed for electric cars. Starting in 2026, the new technology will provide energy for the upcoming Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID.2all.

The Spanish automaker is building these batteries at its Martorell facility which represents an important step toward more sustainable transport. SEAT wants to build more electric vehicles and that is why these batteries will soon be used in their best and newest models.

This 300 million euro investment by SEAT in its new battery plant reflects how committed it is to electric vehicles. It will allow SEAT to produce up to 300,000 batteries each year, preparing the company to increase its electric vehicle range. It both demonstrates SEAT’s determination to improve its battery technology and makes the company more competitive across the fast-changing auto world.

With its design from the 2022 UrbanRebel concept, the future Cupra Raval could shake up the electric vehicle industry. The concept vehicle featured a strong 226 horsepower electric motor and promised to go 440 kilometers on a single charge. Because of SEAT’s unique battery technology, the new Cupra Raval is expected to be fast and efficient, capturing the interest of those who care about the environment.

Also, the SEAT-developed batteries in the Volkswagen ID.2all will strengthen the relationship between the two companies. Through collaboration, Volkswagen brands can advance, share innovations, and move the company forward.

As a result of these new solutions, SEAT is benefiting its customers and helping create a greener world. The manufacture of its first electric car batteries shows a key advance for SEAT, supporting a shift toward greener vehicles.
