Aston Martin Vantage GT8 Flexes Its Muscles on the Nordschleife

Aston Martin has sent the hardcore Vantage GT8 at the Nordschleife track for some rough testing, before hitting the European market this autumn.

We are dealing here with a much more potent variant of the V8 Vantage S, much lighter and extremely fast on the track. Actually, we might say that this is a track-oriented GT8 that can be driven on open roads.

As we can depict from the spy photos, the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is coming with some aerodynamic changes, like new front splitter and rear diffuser, with the rear wing looking a little bit smaller. Interestingly, the model seems to have lost the front fender`s air outlet and rear break cooling ducts. Otherwise, the overall design is borrowed from the Vantage GT12.

The Vantage GT8 will also be faster as it will shed off around 176 pounds. This means that the 4.7-liter V8 engine will deliver 15-20 horsepower over the Vantage S`s 430 horsepower. The engine will be hooked to an optional seven-speed manual transmission or the SSII automated manual.

Weighing less and coming with improved aerodynamics, the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 will be much faster than the V8 Vantage S, meaning a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

The bad news is that the sports car will be built in a limited edition of just 150 cars, with 40 of them reaching the United Kingdom. Rumors also state that each model will cost around £200,000.
