2016 SEMA Show: Colorado ZH2 Joins Chevy`s Lineup

Chevrolet is one of the fewest carmakers to have brought an entire fleet of models at the 2016 SEMA Show, held in Las Vegas, and besides the bespoke Camaro prototypes, another standout hot ride is the all-new ZH2, an exceptional military vehicle which runs on hydrogen cell fuel and featuring exquisite driving characteristics.

We are looking here at a pickup truck built for military necessities and which acts as and operations vehicle for the US Army.

This means that the model is equipped with the latest off-road and military equipment, meaning Kevlar-reinforced carbon fiber hood, 37-inch off-road tires, custom front fenders and rear fenders, new turn signals, 7-inch front headlights and so on.

Built to join the rest of the US Army in 2017, the Chevrolet Colorado ZH2 also comes with an improved platform, specifically designed to cope with off-road capabilities. The model stands at 12 inches above the ground, also coming with a 48-degree approach angle and 39-degree departure angle, meaning that it can climb or descent the hardest hills. The military vehicle also comes with a 20-percent side slope capability.

In the engine department, the Chevy Colorado ZH2 is extremely efficient, coming with a high-tech hydrogen fuel cell powertrain, packing air intakes and radiators at the rear end. The entire powertrain is helped by an Exportable Power Take-off (EPTO), providing as well high- and low-voltage A/C, with 240 V or 120 V, which can power up an entire field hospital for hours.

The Colorado`s ZH2 hydrogen cell fuel can be best observed in the media gallery bellow, enjoy and don’t forget to share your opinions with us!
