A couple of days back we presented the Opel GT Concept in first pictures and details, the concept setting apart with an exquisite design, with body elements that connect the present with the past.
Even if rumors foreseen a production model based on the Opel GT Concept in the following years, there are recent reports that state the contrary.
According to an Opel representative, the GT is “purely a concept study to show off innovations that may one day be found in an Opel production car.”
Every auto segment is a flourishing one due to the continuously development of innovative models, but given the fact that this kind of concept is targeted in dying niche segment, there are no reasons for the carmaker to start a production version.
However, the Opel GT Concept can be admired in its plenitude at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, this March.
As a reminder, the Opel GT Concept comes with a vintage body styling which reminds us of the old and fun Opel concepts first seen in the 1960s, highlighted by the short overhang, long bonnet, twin central tailpipes or curvy roofline.
On the other side, the model also looks futuristic, with the IntelliLux LED matrix lighting technology, wide doors with integrated side windows and more.
