Ferrari finally recalls the “hot” 458 Italia units

Five cases of unexplained catching fire were reported in the last time for the Italian supercar. Ferrari 458 Italia is rated at 168.000 euro in standard version, and Ferrari have to replace the five models that caught fire but also the Italian manufacturer officialy announced that the remaining 1248 units sold will be recalled to solve the problem.

Ferrari announced that the problem could be considered as solved, they found that an adhesive material used in the rear part of the model, mode exactly under the fender, at high temperatures, could caught fire. Ferrari announced that the replacement of the adhesive with a metallic component will take no more than an hour.

Hyundai revealed a sketch for the incoming ix20 concept expected at Paris

No many information was revealed by people at Hyundai regarding the new concept that will be introduced at the Paris Auto Show that starts at the end of this month. According to the little information that we have, the Korean model was designed in Europe, most exactly in Russelsheim, Germany.

2011 Geneva Motor Show to reveal a hybrid version of future 612 Scaglietti

According to some rumors coming from the German people from the Autobild publication, the next-generation of Ferrari 612 Scaglietti may benefit from a hybrid version, this hybrid version along with the other versions available for the future Italian model following to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next year.

According to Ferrari president, Luca di Montezemolo, the Italian hybrid technology developed by Ferrari would be available to be produced in series in few years, most probably in 2014. Even we will face the first series hybrid model from Ferrari at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show or the hybrid version of 612 Scaglietti will debut starting 2014, some features are certain.

Nissan confirms the GT-R facelift improved V6 engine rumors

After the Japanese manufacturer revealed few days ago the first photos showing the facelifted version of the GT-R model, people at Nissan confirms the hypothesis that we also talked about in the article aforesaid, the rumors that Nissan GT-R facelift will come under to hood with a modified V6 engine capable to develop more than 500 horsepower, even 540 horses.

Nissan officialy confirmed that the V6 3.8-liter biturbo engine will suffer some modifications being rumored to develop at least 530 horsepower, but there wasn’t made any official statements by the Japanese officials regarding the horsepower amount that will stay under the hood of GT-R facelift.

The European electric Mitsubishi i-Miev model debuts at Paris Auto Show

The Japanese officials from Mitsubishi made a statement announcing that at this year’s edition of the French Auto Show, they will unveil the electric i-Miev model designed for the European market, a model that suffered from a series of changes to meet some european requirments but also some materials and parts were improved (such as ASC system and side airbags) in order for the European customers to feel safer.

The Japanese electric model comes with an autonomy of 150 kilometers and with batteries capable to be charged in a relative short time. The electric model of Mitsubishi i-Miev is capable to deliver 63 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, that means 180Nm.

GM decided to extend the Opel brand on other markets

According to a spokesman inside the company, Andreas Kroemer, Opel will debut on the new markets with a fresh breath in the automotive market coming as a European premium brand, mostly what the Chinese customers want.
