We have good news for Volkswagen fans as the company confirmed that a production model of the Golf R400 concept is currently in the works.
Concept models are great, but sadly, not most of them are going to be mass produced and sold worldwide. That’s not the case of the German prototype, which received green light for production.
Furthermore, Volkswagen confirmed that they want to keep the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and even increase its output to 420 horsepower. Usually, companies fit very powerful engines on concepts and replace them on the production variants.
Volkswagen up! is a well known model in the automotive industry, mainly because it is a nice little city car, one of the smallest in VW’s portfolio. In order to keep the interest up for customers, the German company introduced the jeans up! edition.
It comes with a series of styling tweaks that make it stand out on the road. With this been said, we know that the engine range will carry over, so expect no surprises under the hood.
On the other hand, the exterior look is improved thanks to a special white finish, new 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome mirror caps and blue body stripes.
Ferrari unveiled the one-off Ferrari 488 GTB supercar at a private event prior to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, with the exquisite model to be brought along at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show as well. This would be the Asian debut of the official successor of the 458 Italia.
As we already know, the Ferrari 488 GTB is coming with a lot of performance features, like the carbon ceramic brakes, while the body style has been also lowered for an increased downforce by up to 50 percent, as opposed to the 458 Italia, making the car looking absolutely different.
Under the hood, the Ferrari 488 GTB will also get a new engine, meaning the 3.9-liter V8 unit, as opposed to the Italia`s 4.5-liter V8. The unit will now produce a massive 661 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, enough for the hot supercar to spring from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, topping 330 km/h.
It seems that the present Bugatti Veyron is not enough for the streets and according to some reports, the Italian supercar maker is already planning a successor of the already famous Veyron. And judging by the power it might come with, it would definitely be regarded as a real megacar.
And the reports were backed by a video with the upcoming Bugatti Veyron while performing some speed tests on the famous Nurburgring. The video is seemingly revealing the same Veyron for the untrained eye, but a specialist could spot the slight differences. We are actually talking about a prototype here that might look quite different in its final form.
Since we mentioned a future megacar, this particular prototype, also called Chiron, might come with the 8.0-liter quad turbo unit, delivering a staggering 1,500 horsepower and whopping 1,500 Nm of torque. With all this power, the new Veyron will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, at a topping of amazing 500 km/h.
