Ferrari officially announces that the first F12 Berlinetta has been sold in the United States at the inaugural of this year’s Formula One Grand Prix in Texas.
The starting price for the auctioned model was $315,888 but it climbed all the way up to $1,12 million. Larry Roth from Long Island proved to be the lucky winner, all the money being redirected to the Red Cross of Central Texas.
The Italian supercar will be delivered to the new owner next year when the company will start the deliveries.
As a reminder, the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta starts from $315,888 in the United States and features a 6.2-liter V12 engine capable to deliver 730 horsepower and 690Nm of torque. With such power, the 0-100 km/h acceleration is done in 3,1 seconds while the top speed is rated at 340 km/h.
The Italian car maker says that another $345,000 obtained from donations was added to the final sum which will support the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
