Lexus LC 500h Plug-in Hybrid Makes Video Debut

Lexus has recently released the debut video of the one-off LC500h hybrid ahead its official unveiling at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, starting 1st of March.

The Lexus LC 500h is one the company`s hottest models, coming with an extremely aerodynamic design and aggressive attitude.

Apart that, the sports car incorporates the latest aluminum aero kit, underpinning a carbon fiber structure, which shaves off enough weight to make it more agile and faster.

The aluminum body kit consists of the new hood, door skins fenders, front suspensions, carbon fiber roof, carbon and glass composite trunk lid as well as the 20-inch cast aluminum wheels. Optionally, you can also get the 20- or the 21-inch forged aluminum wheels.

From a mechanical perspective, the Lexus LC 500h is also using the latest generation of the multi-link front suspension with two upper and two lower control arms with double joint on each one.

Under the hood, the model will use indeed the long-rumored 3.5-liter V6 gasoline mill with an electric motor, the plug-in hybrid being hooked to a lithium-ion battery pack. The overall power stands at 354 horsepower and 348 Nm of torque, being sent to the wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode.

This allows the LC 500h to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5.0 seconds, a good figure achieved thanks to the carmaker`s new “Multi Stage Hybrid System”. The model also comes with the Lexus Safety System+ with the latest safety systems, like pedestrian detection function, automatic high beam, lane keeping assist, or adaptive cruise control.
