Chevrolet Cobalt might not sound very familiar to you as the model is currently sold in North America as the Cruze sedan. However, in Europe, South America and Africa, Chevrolet still sells the Cobalt sedan, a model previewed by the concept version unveiled earlier this year at the Buenos Aires Motor Show.
Actually, Brazil is the first country to get the all-new Chevrolet Cobalt, a model which will be also built locally. Under the bonnet, the new Cobalt gets a 1.8-liter unit fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission but also a smaller 1.4-liter flex-fuel engine offering 102 horses when running on ethanol.
The American model has a length of 4,479mm, a width of 1,735mm and is 1,514mm tall, enough space for five adults who are accommodated comfortably, as the company claims. The boot space is also a strong point of the new Chevrolet Cobalt, more than 560 liters to be more precise.
Talking about pricing, the 2012 Chevrolet Cobalt starts from $23,000 in the Brazil while there are no details about the figures for the other markets. However, the European customers will benefit from a wider engine range to choose from.
