Bentley changing 18 month product cycle
The people over at luxury British manufacturer, Bentley, have announced that they will be slowly moving away from its 18 month product cycle.

Why is that? Well mostly because according to a recent study they’ve conducted among their customers revealed that owners of Bentley products tend to drive their sports cars for an average of 12 to 18 months before looking for something else.

Bentley considering a shooting brake model
Back at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera unveiled a Bentley Continental-based station wagon which is mostly known to luxury automakers as “shooting brake.”

Bentley came along in 2003 and brought out the Continental GT, a car that would borrow the engine from a Volkswagen Phaeton and add a couple of turbochargers to it. This engine was so powerful that Bentley had trouble measuring the torque output.

Bentley recently released details about a new model, I’m talking about the Bentley Mulsanne and this car doesn’t even need presentation, is a Bentley and for most people’s that should be enough. Maybe at first sight you might think that this is just an Arnage with a strong facelift but the officials have specially taken care of this and said that the new Mulsanne is a replacer of the model mentioned above.
Even more they said that not even one piece remained unchanged. This new Bentley Mulsanne was inspired directly from the 8 liter models, from the time when Bentley were considered the most luxurious cars in the world. The dimensions of this care are at least impressive, measuring 5.562 mm length, with a width at 1.926 mm and with 1.526 mm height, let’s not forget to mention that Mulsanne is equipped with 20 inch wheels.

There are very few tuning packages for the cars built by Bentley and if you would ask me any other tuning package for any car built by Bentley, I won’t know what to answer but this is happening probably because to buy a Bentley is very expensive and to make a tuning for such a car it costs probably much more than a real Bentley car. In the past days Bentley Continental Supersports was tested by Jay Leno, if you wonder who he is, Jay Leno is the host of a very popular TV show. Bentley Continental Supersports can achieve an amazing speed of 204 mph and that makes this Bentley the fastest car ever build by the well known British brand.
It’s not a surprise that Bentley Continental Supersports can have such a great performance knowing that it has a W12 twin-turbo engine under the hood, the engine has the capacity of 6.0 liter and it sends 590 lb-ft and 621 bhp to all four wheels. Yeah, all of that sounds very good and the price is for the size, if you want to own a Bentley Continental Supersports you need a little bit under 270.000 USD.

Bentley and Royal College of Art run a very interesting program, they were invited 18 students specialized in auto design and they had the task to draw a Bentley of the future. As you can see in the pictures some ideas look very interesting, they all came up with very futuristic designs, each one of them look like Batman’s mobile.
From all 18 students were chosen only the best 4 and they will work with the head of Bentley exterior design Raul Pires, he will help the students to refine their projects. One of the finalists is Bora Kim, he’s from South Korea and he design a Bentley that allows you to change the engine type during the journey, any time you want.

Maybe some of you don’t know what Platinum Motorsport is but don’t worry I will tell you, well, Platinum Motorsport is basically a tuning company from Los Angeles, those guys take cool cars and make them even cooler. This Bentley Continental GT is one of those lucky cars which got some pretty awesome changes, both body and performance were improved.
Platinum Motorsport spoiled this Bentley Continental GT with a complete wide body kit that includes wider fenders, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, also some black rims, a custom exhaust system and smoked headlights and windows. As you can see from the pictures the exterior was completely changed and I’m glad to say that Platinum Motorsport did an amazing job.
