The Honda Japanese based carmaker has introduced the 2016 Odyssey Hybrid JDM in Japan, the model heading to local dealerships soon enough. Prices with the model start from 2,760,000 YEN ($23,650) and can reach 4,056,000 YEN ($34,755) depending on the version and equipment.
From a visual point of view, the 2016 Honda Odyssey Hybrid JDM looks like a typical Japanese minivan, coming with an evolutionary design with flowing cues going all the way down into the front headlights.
The 2016 Honda Odyssey Hybrid JDM is quite a spacious model, housing up to eight people inside, without affecting the cargo capacity. The cabin is fully tweaked with the latest high-tech gizmos, like updated climate control system with Sharp Plasmacluster technology, Honda`s suite of Sensing safety and assistance system and so on.
But the minivan`s strongest point remains the plug-in hybrid configuration under the hood. We are dealing here with a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine, hooked to a Sport Hybrid i-MMD (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) system, which makes the minivan extremely fuel-efficient. Honda claims just 3.8 /100 km, or the equivalent of 61.1 mpg US.
The reduced mileage is also due to the fact that the electric motor has been reduced in sized by 23 percent, being also lighter than the previous one, and hooked to the new-gen lithium-ion battery pack, placed under the front seats, which can be extremely effective in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
