Australian buyers now have full pricing for the petrol-powered Jaecoo J5. Two trim grades are part of the first release. Track opens the range at AUD 25,990, while Summit sits at AUD 29,990. Using the conversion figures shown alongside local pricing, those values equal about $18,600 and $21,436.

The J5 already exists in electric form, though this petrol version broadens the line. Jaecoo lists showroom arrival for May or June. Local support includes an eight-year warranty with no kilometer limit, capped-price servicing during the same period, plus roadside assistance for up to eight years.

Brand expansion in Australia began earlier. Jaecoo and Omoda entered the market in May 2025 and now operate through 50 dealers. Both names belong to Chery International. The group created them in 2023 for exports outside China. Operations run from Wuhu in Anhui through Anhui Omoda Jaecoo Automobile Co., Ltd. Current local stock already includes J7 SHS, J8, and J5 EV.

Body shape stays close to the electric J5, though one visible change appears at the front. Petrol versions use a vertical waterfall-style grille similar to the face used on J7 and J8. Wheel design also changes, even if both grades still ride on 18-inch alloys.

The mechanical layout stays simple. A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivers 108 kW, equal to 145 horsepower. Peak torque reaches 210 Nm, or 155 pound-feet. A continuously variable transmission handles gear changes. Drive goes only through the front wheels.

Track trim carries more standard equipment than the price suggests. Buyers receive LED headlights and LED taillights, automatic high-beam control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, wireless Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument display, and a six-speaker audio setup. Voice control is standard, too. The center display measures 13.2 inches. Remote engine start appears here, together with HVAC control.

Summit moves upward with extra comfort items. A panoramic glass roof joins the package. So does a powered sunshade. The tailgate opens electrically. Cabin changes include dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker sound system, a 50-watt wireless charging pad, and Easy Clean synthetic leather seating with TUV certification.

Safety equipment covers the full range. Seven airbags are fitted from the start. Autonomous Emergency Braking sits on the list, together with Emergency Lane Keeping, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Forward Collision Warning.

Jaecoo describes the J5 as aimed at buyers searching for strong value in the small SUV class. The pricing explains why.
