I know there are some crazy people out there but I reckon we’re all in agreement, the Mercedes SLS AMG comes with a spectacular engine.

Making it look that much more interesting is something that really strains tuning companies, their engineers and their marketers altogether.

McChip’s administration has decided to put them all to the test and judging by the end result being the MC700 I’d reckon they’ve happily passed.

The naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 engine once developing 563 horsepower and 579 lb-ft of peak torque was put to some serious workouts.

No less than four packages are now available for the car but the main point is that they all feature a supercharger, an ECU upgrade and a Capristo exhaust system.

The least you can get is 671 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque from the new setup. The price for something like that is as striking as the SLS itself, it comes in at nearly 90.000 USD.

Adding up sports catalytic converters and a more aggressive tune-up you obtain a grand total of 706 horsepower and 585 lb-ft of torque. That adds another 12.200 USD to the cost.

Not a pretty sight but then, taming the power somehow with a hydraulically controlled KW suspension will imply spending another 17.400.

McChip seem to know how to convert things into reality when it comes to engineering and their marketers are really convinced about how much they can charge for it.

For a final 8000 USD you even get the two-tone foil wrap exterior you see in these images. They’re prone to have success.
