When it comes to fuel economy upgrades in Europe, BMW is pretty much at the top of the crowd when it comes to diesel offerings but in Japan things are different. The ongoing Tokyo Motor Show is the place where the 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 Series was unveiled so that the Bavarians can showcase fuel
The Bavarians are pretty keen on their electric range, the i fellowship but good as they may be, they still suffer from the same real world problems. This is why BMW is currently considering adding some range extender devices to the i3 and whatever other pipeline products.
BMW themselves admit that the 5 Series is their bread and butter machine. That said though, the 3 Series isn’t exactly far behind and with an update due to show up very soon in 2012 form Bavarian sales aren’t going to go down soon. The spyshots we have here aren’t of a “normal” 2012 BMW
