Peugeot has added a new ENVY special edition to the 208 and 2008 ranges, combining additional equipment and exclusive design details with petrol, hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
The interesting part, however, is the price. ENVY costs only €400 more than the corresponding Allure specification, making it worth examining what buyers actually receive for the extra money.
Prices start at €24,050 for the Peugeot 208 ENVY Turbo 100. The Hybrid 110 automatic costs €26,950, while the more powerful Hybrid 145 is €27,750. Electric versions start considerably higher: €36,900 for the 136-hp model with a 46-kWh battery and €38,200 for the 156-hp version using a 51-kWh battery.
The larger 2008 ENVY begins at €30,500 with the Turbo 100 engine. Hybrid 110 and Hybrid 145 versions cost €33,800 and €34,600 respectively, while the 156-hp electric model is priced at €40,700.
What does the €400 premium buy?
Both ENVY models receive exclusive styling touches, including new no-cost paint choices. The 208 introduces Alvao Green and gets a contrasting gloss-black roof, while the 2008 offers Nazare Blue with gloss-black roof bars.
There are also model-specific alloy wheels: 16-inch NOMA wheels for the 208 and 17-inch KARAKOY wheels for the 2008, both using a two-tone diamond-cut design.
Inside, Peugeot borrows elements from the higher GT specification. ENVY models receive front seats with Tremezzo tri-material upholstery, blue-green stitching and Peugeot logos on the head restraints. Matching detailing continues onto the door panels, while aluminium front door sills add another small premium touch.
More importantly for everyday use, keyless entry and start and a high-definition reversing camera are standard. The 2008 also gains an adjustable two-position boot floor.
So, is ENVY worth the extra €400?
On equipment alone, it makes a convincing case. Buyers receive both cosmetic differentiation and features they are likely to use every day, rather than paying solely for badges and special-edition trim.
The larger question is which powertrain makes the most financial sense. The 208 ENVY Electric 156 costs €14,150 more than the Turbo 100, while the equivalent gap between the petrol and electric 2008 ENVY is €10,200. Those are substantial premiums that buyers will need to balance against running costs and their ability to charge at home.
As a trim level, though, ENVY is unusually easy to understand: for €400 above Allure, Peugeot is offering enough additional equipment and visual distinction to make the upgrade genuinely relevant rather than merely decorative.
