The long-awaited GTI version of the new Volkswagen Golf finally reaches UK as the German carmaker announced official pricing figures. Before we tell you the numbers, you have to know that the new Golf GTI is offered with a 2.0-liter petrol unit producing 217 horsepower.
It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 6,5 seconds, hitting a top speed of 245 km/h. If you want more power, the GTI Performance model gets a retuned engine producing 227 horses which is able to improve the acceleration by 0,1 seconds and the top speed by 5 km/h.
Fuel economy figures for the new model are rated at 44,1 mpg UK with CO2 emissions of 148 g/km, numbers available for both six-speed manual and six-speed DSG transmissions.
The base Volkswagen Golf GTI benefits from sport seats, ambient lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, black roof lining and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Larger 19-inch alloys, keyless entry, satellite navigation and leather upholstery can be ordered at extra price. The base Volkswagen Golf GTI starts at 25,845 in the United Kingdom.
