2019 Audi S7 Sportback Undergoes First Tests at the Ring

Even if Audi is planning the introduction of the new Audi A7 Sportback at the end of 2017, the carmaker is also full-testing the S7 Sportback variant at the Ring, preparing the model for a 2019 MY.

Thanks to motor1.com, we now have the first spy photos with the 2019 Audi S7 Sportback undergoing first tests at the Ring, the mule wearing full camouflage, which means that it would come with improved features at the body.

We are dealing here with the second generation S7 Sportback, which would come with the same size as the present version, with a stretched wheelbase to make more rear legroom.

Also, even if unconfirmed, the new model would also come with a new rear end which will separate it from the current S7 version, with a lot in common with the Prologue concept as well, unveiled some time ago.

Other features will be borrowed from the carmaker`s recent models, like corporate single-frame grill, updated front bumper with side vents. The model is also likely to receive power-retractable rear spoiler, prominent black alloys and a few more styling bits which will separate it from the current version.

In the engine department, the all-new 2019 Audi S7 Sportback is likely to underpin the same powertrains from the current generation, but with some slight downsizes. For instance, the current 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo with 450 horsepower would receive a six-cylinder engine with rather the same power.

Also, the carmaker might introduce a new 3.0-liter V6 engine, the same found on the S4 and S5, or the 4S`s 2.9-liter engine from the Panamera. We should be able to find out more towards the beginning of 2017.
