Porsche decided to unveil today the new Cayenne GTS, a more powerful variant of the new German SUV which is scheduled to debut at this year’s edition of the China Auto Show.
Under the bonnet sits a revised 4.8-liter V8 engine able to produce 414 horsepower, slightly more than the Cayenne S.
Thanks to the extra power and an eight-speed Tip-tronic S transmission, the new Cayenne GTS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,7 seconds.
Porsche says that the new model is able to reach 160 km/h in 13,3 seconds before hitting the top speed of 261 km/h. An auto start/stop system helps the powerful SUV to return a fuel economy of 10,7 liters/100 km on the European driving cycle.
In terms of styling, the new Porsche Cayenne GTS gets a new set of 20-inch RS wheels, revised front and rear bumpers, side skirts, wider wheel arches, a roof spoiler and two new exterior finishes.
A reworked suspension able to lower the ground clearance by 24 mm is available as well as the Porsche Active Suspension Management system. Pricing starts from €90,774 in Germany while the U.S. customers will benefit from a starting price of $82,050.
