Volkswagen decided to spoil UK customers with a new special edition, this time based on the Golf hatchback.
The new VW Golf Match Edition starts from £19,840 for the 3-door model and packs a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit with 115 horsepower. A standard six-speed manual transmission is available on this model while a more powerful 2.0-liter TDI with 150 hp is also available.
It comes in the five-door configuration with a six-speed DSG gearbox but it’s significantly more expensive at £24,840. According to VW, this special editions offers over £1,000 worth of equipment.
From the list we notice the 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, automatically dimming rearview mirror and new door mirrors that can also fold automatically. Inside, there’s a new 6.5-inch touchscreen display part of the Discover Navigation system.
Several safety systems such as ABS, seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, PreCrash protection, automatic post-collision braking system and XDS electronic differential lock are also available.
All in all, Volkswagen offers a plethora of systems and equipment that make this special edition really interesting. Expect first models to be delivered to UK buyers early next year.
