McLaren officially presents the new MP4-12C Can-Am GT, a racing model seen for the first time earlier this year at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as a concept vehicle.
Under the bonnet we find a powerful 3.8-liter V8 power plant capable to deliver 630 horsepower. The track-only McLaren MP4-12C will be offered in a limited edition with prices starting at £375,000 in the UK.
At the exterior, the new model benefits from revised spoilers, new forged alloy wheels, a big rear wing, a lot of air intakes aid also lightweight carbon fiber door mirrors.
Inside, the British car maker provides a new steering wheel similar to the one found on the GT3 model, six-point harnesses and a full rollcage which is FIA-approved.
“The 12C Can-Am Edition concept shown at Pebble Beach earlier this year was purely that, a one-off design study. However, the reaction and response following the unveiling was remarkable,” says the company.
