2017 Geneva: SsangYong XAVL Concept Is One Futuristic SUV

Forget what you are doing these days and stay tuned for the latest and fresh details from the most important auto event of the year – the 2017 Geneva Motor Show – which has recently welcomed more than 200 brand-new models and concepts for official debut.

One particular carmaker from China that hasn’t been present for quite some time is SsangYong, arriving at its stand with the already-previewed XAVL, quite a futuristic approach on an upcoming production model.

Its long name stands for eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long and designates an extremely exciting and long SUV capable of accommodating up to seven passengers with their luggage. It measures 4,630 mm long, 1,866 mm wide, 1,640 mm high and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.

Besides its sheer size which also houses a wide array of engines, the all-new SsangYong XAVL is fully tweaked with plenty of technology inside, like infotainment system in the head lining, smartphone technology, Link to Home IOT (Internet of Things) technology, navigation system, ventilation and air conditioning, heating and much more.

In the engine department, the concept is extremely fuel-efficient, thanks to its new engine lineup. We are looking here at a 1.6-liter diesel with CO2 emissions of 120-150k/km, as well as a 1.5-liter petrol engine with CO2 emissions of 150-170g/km. The AWD variants will arrive with a six-speed manual transmission or optional automatic.

According to the carmaker, the SsangYong XAVL Concept will spawn a production model by 2020. Even if we don’t have the live photos from Geneva, we have got a couple of them outside the event. Enjoy and tell us if you would buy it!
